Some more photos ... sorry that there are so many, but it has been going on for a while and has now become one of the major issues in our life.
This shows my house in the front, their development to the direct north and Big Buddha - which Jacob used to be able to see from his room but now cannot... |
No licence, no land title, no building permit ... but still allowed to proceed |
Trying to get all of their large "development in ... including the septic tank in the beach and the other tanks under the bathroom. |
see right next to the gate of Big Buddha |
Papa watching over the waste spillage |
This is the view I see every morning as I walk out my front door - their wall, connected to my house. |
and a bit closer |
and here we are - we have connection |
This is their roof connected to our wall. |
And underneath - and they keep telling me they have no money, but they have enough to spend on blocks and roofing and guttering and kitchen sinks that they break up... |
another view of the connection of their roof to ours ... while they were doing this they walked all over our roof and even though I yelled at them, they just kept on smiling and going on with their work ... the land of smiles. |
Is this not supposed to be at least 1 metre (oh I forgot - that is if you have a land title and if you have a permit) |
At least they were off our roof when I took this photo |
Heard of the saying "they even threw in the kitchen sink" ... well here is the kitchen sink attached to the other side of Anna's bedroom wall. Those nice wooden doors are the entrance to their third bedroom - looks like nice wood - wonder where they got the money for that? |
They decided that they had done a little too much and demolished the kitchen sink. While they were doing it, I asked them to do it gently, but they just kept on hammering away ... resulting in the cracks on the inside of Anna's room.
Are you hearing a persistent theme here .... they don't care about us and just keep on doing what they want with no respect for their neighbours. |
nearly gone ... these guys got a bit angry with me taking photos, but I reminded them it is the Crown Land (Tini Khong Luang) and I have full right to be there and take pictures.
They did not like it when I told them they could also go to jail for breaking the law... but kept on going anyway. |
a result of the sink demolition |
See the bucket which is used to collect the water that is dripping in through the roof which they damaged while walking on it to attach their room to Anna's roof. |
More cracks and water damage in Anna's room
We do admit that Anna's room was built relatively inexpensively. The reason for this is that we had talked with Dim, she said she would go after her children finished school. So as our family was growing up fast we needed the extra bedroom. We built it with the view it would be only for 12 - 18 months.
3 years later it is still there and was doing fine until they started walking over the roof and hammering against the wall.
Another view of how close they are to our house |
Our lovely beach ... well it could be if they would let us clear it and make steps down and let everyone use it |
Instead they put concrete poles into the sand (Is that legal?) |
Overseeing the waste disposal. Papa and middle son. They don't seem to like photos either and this is one of the many instances where they start yelling at me and pointing at me and telling me to go away as they are Thai and I am just a farang that cannot tell them what to do... |
There used to be steps down to the beach but they blocked them off as it might mean people would see how they are stealing from the Crown. |
They put some other stairs in that go into their house. For some reason they don't like it when I go up them ... but I keep reminding them it is Crown Land and anyone can walk there ... |
Next time you go to Big Buddha, just at the gate there are some steps down to the beach ... pop down them and look for yourself... |
Oh more raw waste going into the beach where my kids cannot play. |
And here is their house in Plai Laem that they were saving for ... looks nearly finished to me (well, if they used the money and materials from the illegal beach development it would certainly be finished) |
Quite a nice design... |
almost livable .. wonder if it has a septic tank or just puts it straight out onto their own land? |
This is high tide and you can see why we get such a bad smell as the water flushes out their septic tanks onto the beach |
covering the tanks now... |
another view .... |
This is how Jacob has to come out and look at Big Buddha as he can no longer see it from his bedroom |
Is it legal to attach yourself around power poles like that? |
I wonder how safe it is with all of these lightning storms we are having? |
See if their place was not in the way, we could see Big Buddha from both Anna's and Jacobs rooms. |
Quite a lot of roof for people who keep saying they have no money ... |
Another view of it |
They are also expanding out onto the road ... building another room closer to the Big Buddha gates. I cannot believe how the Government lets them build this ugly development so close to one of Samui's most loved attractions. |
Theirs my two mates again .. I have lots of photos of them .. but wish I didn't have to take photos |
Dims brother was asking me why I was taking photos so I took him to the sign that explains how it is the Crown Foreshore and therefore anyone can go there .. and he agreed it was OK for me to take photos ... but still said they were not going to move ... |
